Watch: News helicopter films odd orb soaring through sky over New York City

A New York City television station's helicopter captured footage of a peculiar orb-shaped object that cruised through the sky over the Hudson River. The odd UFO reportedly appeared towards the end of an otherwise unremarkable segment on congestion pricing that aired on Fox 5 New York earlier this week. In the helicopter shot above the Hudson River, the small circular object zips through the sky until it flies out of frame. While the news station producer may not have noticed the UFO when they put the segment together, viewers at home and anchor Dan Bowens did with the reporter subsequently posting the clip on social media to see if anyone could identify the puzzling orb.

To that end, Harvard professor and Galileo Project founder Avi Loeb told the New York Post that the UFO was "most likely an optical artifact from the helicopter glass in front of the camera." That said, an individual at the television station posited to the paper that the orb was a drone that looked like it was moving at tremendous speed due to the footage being from the perspective of the fast-moving helicopter. Meanwhile, many people online offered their own theories, including a balloon, some kind of secret aircraft, and, of course, aliens.
