Watch: Eerie triangular formation of UFOs unsettles witnesses in Mexico

A pair of witnesses in Mexico was understandably unsettled when they spotted three UFOs in a triangular formation hovering in the night sky. According to a local media report, the eerie sighting occurred earlier this month in the community of Tulcingo de Valle. In a video of the strange scene, seen above, the two witnesses stop their car to film the wondrous sight that had suddenly appeared in the sky out on the horizon. Noting that "it formed from nothing," one of the observers marvels, noting that "I am shaking" as they watch the weird aerial anomaly overhead.

The sighting took an even stranger turn when, to the astonishment of the witnesses, one of the balls of light broke into two distinct illuminations. The UFOs slowly form something of a line in the sky, abandoning their previous triangular formation and causing the occupants of the car to become uneasy at what they are seeing. The footage ends with the witnesses deciding to flee the scene, clearly having had enough weirdness for one night.

Since appearing online last week, the video has gone viral on social media in Mexico, with various theories being offered for what the pair caught on film. As one might imagine, some have suggested that the UFOs were otherworldly visitors possibly drawn to the area by the Popocatépetl volcano, an alleged alien base located around 90 miles away. More skeptical viewers, however, posit that the peculiar lights were likely lanterns, which may explain the manner in which they floated and how one of them seemingly broke apart.
