Watch: Body moves inside coffin during burial service?
An unsettling piece of footage from a burial service in Indonesia appears to show the corpse waving from the inside of the coffin. The bizarre scene reportedly occurred at a ceremony in the city of Manado earlier this month and was filmed by an individual in attendance. In the video, the grieving family and friends of the deceased can be seen gathered around their departed loved one's coffin, which sports a fairly sizable window that allowed mourners to see the body, as it sits in a grave while final burial rites are performed.
As the service unfolds, the priest in attendance declares "God has said in the book of John. I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me he will live even though he is dead." Chillingly, following those words being spoken, the camera zooms in on the window of the coffin and what appears to be the deceased individual's hand suddenly appears as if it is waving to the people around the grave.
Chillingly, the service continues uninterrupted as if no one noticed the action taking place inside the coffin and, as such, it is uncertain as to whether or not anyone checked to see if the person being buried was still alive. The eerie footage subsequently appeared on social media and sparked something of a debate with some viewers believing that the body was, indeed, waving for help, while more skeptical observers argue that the movement was merely a reflection or a natural occurrence brought about by the decomposition process.
