Watch: Bigfoot filmed near Colorado river?
A Colorado raft tour company claims to have recently captured footage of a hairy bipedal creature that some suspect was a Sasquatch. Colorado River Expeditions shared the eyebrow-raising scene online on YouTube last Monday, explaining that the sighting occurred the previous day as guides were out on their "first river trip of the season." Asserting that the video was not a digital manipulation nor the product of fakery, the company mused that it "appears to be real footage of Bigfoot on the Upper Colorado River." That said, not everyone is convinced that the alleged Bigfoot encounter is on the level.
In the footage, featured above, the guides can be heard marveling at something unusual lurking around some streets on a nearby hillside. When the individual manning the camera finally catches sight of the curious creature, it is revealed to be what appears to be a bipedal hair-covered creature resembling the classic description of Bigfoot. The suspected Sasquatch can then be seen peeking out from behind a tree seemingly watching the bewildered guides as they observe the mysterious figure. The odd video caught the attention of Bigfoot enthusiasts at the end of last week and spread like wildfire on social media over the weekend.
Many observers marveled at the remarkably clear nature of the footage and agreed with the company's assessment that the creature may have been the legendary cryptid. However, more skeptical viewers cast doubt on the video, noting that the figure looked more like someone in a Sasquatch suit. They also pointed to the provenance of the footage and the sensational manner it was presented online with the company offering the 'opportunity' to "witness it for yourself" as an indication that the scene was a cleverly staged publicity stunt for the river tour group.
