Watch: Alien encounter inspires Georgia man to create 'Area 51' lawn display

A Georgia man who constructed a fairly elaborate UFO-themed lawn display on his property says that the unique scene was actually inspired by his own alien encounter. According to a local media report, the out-of-this-world exhibition can be found outside the home of Danny Nelson in the city of Sardis. Consisting of several UFO sculptures and a variety of gray alien homages, the display is meant to reflect his rather fantastic history with the phenomenon which began back in the 1980s when he spotted a UFO that "looked about the length of a big jet airplane but it was cigar shaped."

A few years later, Nelson claims, he was actually abducted by aliens and spoke to one of the otherworldly visitors. Recalling his conversation with the ET that brought him aboard the craft by removing him from his truck, the man asserted that "he said he’s not there to harm me. He wanted to do an examination." Nelson also stressed that, contrary to how they are sometimes depicted in the media, the aliens that he encountered were gray and not green.

Conceding that "it does sound crazy," the alleged abductee responded to those who might be skeptical by musing that "the crazy ones are going to be the ones who don't believe." To that end, in a local news segment showcasing Nelson's lawn display, a friend of forty years offered his support for the odd account. "I believe his story," Jack Johnson declared, "he never lied to me, just because it does not sound real. It is real."
