Location: Bolzano, northern Italy.

Date: July 6, 1968.

It was a cold, silent night, typical of an Alpine summer. Industrial rep, Walter Marino Rizzi from Bolzano was driving along a lonely road on his way to, where his aunt ran a hotel. It was then, on a sharp bend, that something strange caught his attention—an unusual, intense light hovering just ahead, in the middle of the road. At first, he thought it was a vehicle with its high beams on, but he quickly realized that he was looking at something that defied any conventional explanation.

Before Rizzi was a huge, disc-shaped object, enveloped in an intense, strange light. The machine, with a transparent dome on top, rested on three metal supports, resting part of the road.

"When I got to about fifty meters (150ft), I noticed that on the right side of the disk there was a cylindrical robot, eight feet tall, with three legs and four arms. It was holding the outer part of the object and rotating it, as if it were fixing something broken. Now I could see clearly: the object was made of a material similar to aluminum, but at times it seemed almost transparent.

As I approached the disk, I noticed that the white light that surrounded it ended abruptly about 2ft from the surface, as if there were an invisible barrier. Upon touching this luminous boundary, I was immediately paralyzed—my body felt like it weighed tons. The air became thin, a suffocating heat enveloped me, and a strong smell of burning filled the air. At the top of the ship, under an intensely glowing glass dome, two beings watched me in silence.

At that very moment, a sort of trapdoor opened in the lower part of the UFO, releasing a dense purple and orange light. From this light emerged a strange figure, wearing a glass helmet and a tight silver suit, with a showy belt placed around the waist. He approached with long strides, touching the ground.

He seemed to be a little over six feet tall... and when he was a little over a meter (3ft) from me, he raised his right hand and looked me straight in the eyes... He had very short light brown hair... his eyes were beautiful, larger than ours, slightly slanted, like those of a cat, with the white part hazel, the iris blue-green and the oval pupils, which contracted continuously like those of felines. His lips were very thin and when he smiled I saw that he had regular, white teeth, his skin was light olive green and smooth like gums...

Close eye contact with the being transmitted to the witness a feeling of sudden and unlimited happiness:

“Now I felt free and light as a feather... it was a heavenly sensation; I wanted to hug him, but suddenly I felt blocked again, and he signalled me not to do so with his arm. I then wanted to ask him in Italian where he came from... I didn't even have time to formulate the question, I already had the answer in my head... Then our entire communication took place: he read my thoughts, instantly giving me the answer.

He said he came from a distant planet, outside our galaxy, almost twice as big as Earth. There were two suns there — one big and one smaller — which made the days and twilights very long, and the nights very short. He described his planet as a very beautiful place, with huge mountains and lots of vegetation. He also talked about life in society, which was peaceful, vegetarian and without violence. People lived much longer than humans and had no diseases. This was possible thanks to a technology that kept the body's cells always strong and healthy. Death only occurred when the internal energy cycle was completely exhausted.

While the mental dialogue was taking place, I couldn't help but look at the disk, trying to understand its construction. There were no visible welds, screws or joints — it looked like a single cast piece. That being explained to me that the material was a thousand times more resistant than anything we know on Earth. In addition, it had the incredible ability to "self-weld", repairing itself automatically when necessary.

I couldn’t help but ask why they didn’t allow us to share their technological knowledge and why they didn’t stay with us longer. The being replied that it was impossible for them to interfere in the evolution of another planet. He further explained that if they spent any more time in our solar system, they would age prematurely due to the conditions of the Earth’s environment. Finally, he stated that we would never reach their evolutionary stage because of the fragility of the Earth’s crust. He mentioned that in the near future, a shift in the Earth’s poles will occur, which will cause enormous cracks in the crust and trigger cataclysms that will destroy eighty percent of the world’s population. Only a narrow strip of land would remain habitable for the survivors." Rizzi's thoughts then turned to the image of God, and he asked the alien if this belief also existed on his distant planet. The being, apparently confused at first, replied that, for them, God is everywhere: in plants, animals, rocks, grass and in all of nature. He explained that the way we behave towards our surroundings has a decisive influence on our lives. Finally, the alien told Rizzi about the so-called mother vehicles — huge spaceships, like giant aircraft carriers, capable of traveling between the stars. They can be up to five kilometers (3miles) in diameter and use a form of energy coming from the solar systems and the force fields of the planets. This energy, according to him, is inexhaustible and extremely powerful. Thanks to this, these ships can move much faster than light, covering great distances instantly and transferring matter, including their own means of transportation. At that moment, the robot, having stopped its work, shrank in size and slid across the floor until it disappeared into the lower part of the disk, where there was an orange light. Then, the being announced that the meeting was coming to an end:

"I asked him, I begged him to take me with him... he told me that it was not possible: my body could not bear his vibrations and energies; so, overcome by despair, I knelt down and, crying, I begged him to give me something of his. He looked at me with his wonderful gaze, still giving me that feeling of peace and tranquility and at the same time he extended his right arm, touching my left shoulder, and I felt myself lifted off the ground like a feather..." At the same time, the foreign friend slowly retreated, and raising his right arm towards the Earthling in greeting, he moved to the center of the disk, placing himself next to the robot, and disappearing in a beam of intense light.

At that moment, an invisible force pushed me away from the disk. I tried to resist, but it was as if I were being carried. With my heart racing, I watched the departure. The white light that surrounded the disk began to weaken, the supports retracted... everything happened in silence. Little by little, the light grew stronger, until, when it reached a certain height, a very white glow enveloped the object. At that moment, I heard a whistle and, like a gunshot, it rose in a northeast direction and disappeared into the sky... ”
