Video: Mystery creature spotted swimming off north Carolina coast

A fishing boat captain captured footage of a mysterious creature swimming in the waters off the coast of North Carolina and no one is quite sure what the odd beast may have been. The strange sighting reportedly occurred on Tuesday morning in the popular recreation site Bogue Sound. Shortly after starting his day as a charter boat captain for the company Chasin Tails Outdoors Bait & Tackle, Daniel Griffee spotted something rather sizeable emerge from the water and swim a short distance in rather unusual fashion.

Sharing video (seen below) of the puzzling creature on Facebook, he recalled first thinking that the aquatic anomaly might have been a group of dolphins, but indicated that he later came to suspect that it was a baby whale. That said, not everyone agreed with his assessment, as the footage sparked a slew of responses from people on social media with their own theories, some of which included an alligator, an anaconda, or perhaps a manatee. And, of course, some simply joked that the beast filmed by Griffee was the Loch Ness Monster. With that in mind, share your best guess for what the fishing boat captain encountered earlier this week at the Coast to Coast AM Facebook page.
