Video: Former 'Conjuring House' resident calls on famous ghost hunter to save home

A woman who lived in the Conjuring House during the purported paranormal events that made the home infamous is asking a famous ghost hunter to help save the residence ahead of an auction scheduled for later this month. Andrea Perron reportedly issued the call to action after hearing that the site was set to be sold on Halloween. As a teenager in the 1970s, she and her family were at the center of the haunting that became a part of paranormal lore and spawned the 'Conjuring' film franchise. Having written extensively about her experiences at the house, Perron understandably holds the residence close to her heart and fears what might become of it when it goes up on the auction block in a few weeks.

Taking to social media earlier this month, Perron indicated that she felt "compelled" to weigh in on what she lovingly calls "the farm." Expressing concern that the property "is in jeopardy," she passionately pleaded with Jason Hawes, of the pioneering paranormal TV program 'Ghost Hunters,' to take the lead on acquiring the home. Acknowledging that he had previously dismissed such a scenario, Perron said, "I am imploring you to reconsider my request" and promised to "do everything in my formidable power" to help him raise the money to buy the home.

Her impassioned plea resonated with Hawes, who subsequently announced that, despite his earlier reticence to get involved in the sale, he was now willing to take up the charge with a GoFundMe campaign aimed at raising the necessary funds. Echoing Perron's concerns, he mused, "if someone doesn’t step in, it’s most likely going to fall into the hands of people who think it’s just a money-making machine. And that’s not what this place is about."

To that end, Hawes hopes that the paranormal community can come together and crowd-fund the purchase of the home so that "we can keep it open for future generations." Whether the group effort will be successful remains to be seen, as the upcoming Halloween auction has drawn considerable interest from a variety of prospective buyers, which could result in a bidding war for the home that sold for a staggering $1.5 million back in 2022.
