It was a calm morning when a woman, whose name has been withheld out of respect for her privacy, was performing her daily chores by a stream on the outskirts of the small village of Montebenichi. As was customary, she was washing clothes in the stream and, after rinsing a few items, hung two pairs of black stockings on an iron wire strung between two simple posts.

Suddenly, the silence of the rural landscape was interrupted by a loud hissing sound, similar to a jet of steam, accompanied by a sudden gust of wind. Startled, the woman looked up and saw, a few meters away, a strange object descending from the sky. The structure was shaped like a spinning top, round and with a gentle rotation, and landed lightly about twenty meters away.

An opening appeared at the bottom of the object, from which a small ladder protruded and touched the ground. Then, two small beings, approximately one meter tall, descended slowly. Their forms were vaguely humanoid, but their movements were precise. As they walked over the uneven terrain, the beings began to circle the woman, passing very close to her, almost brushing against her body, but never touching her. All the while, they emitted a high-pitched, rhythmic sound, described as the intermittent "chirping" of something mechanical.

The woman, somewhere between fear and fascination, remained motionless, observing the unusual scene, unsure how to react. After a few minutes, without any sign of hostility, the two small beings approached the clothesline and removed the newly hung black stockings. With the same care with which they had descended, they returned to the ship, carrying the garments with them.

Shortly thereafter, the ladder was retracted, the opening closed, and the strange object rose rapidly into the air, emitting a loud hiss again and generating another gust of wind that shook the trees and raised dust. Within seconds, the flying object disappeared into the sky, leaving the witness alone and stunned by the inexplicable experience he had just experienced.

Those small beings probably took the socks to examine the material or collect biological traces left by human use, such as sweat and skin cells. It is also possible that they were simply curious about everyday objects, seeking to understand our habits and customs.
