I haul oil from the well pads to Steubenville, Ohio. I have been running this route 2 times a day Monday-Friday, for the past 10 months. I know this route. There is a 84 Lumber [lumber yard business] below the highway. There are railroad tracks behind the 84 Lumber store. I was north bound on 7 crossing the bridge. I looked out the drivers window with an elevated view. Standing in the middle of the tracks was a very large bigfoot with brown hair from head to toe, with black hair or muddy hair on its chest. The bigfoot was looking up the hill.

I called out on the CB radio to get someone else to look and confirm what I just saw. I was driving 55, so 1.5 seconds is not a lot of time.

The two things that stood out was its totally brown hair except the dark black on its chest. The other is the size of its shoulder cap on its arm. It was the size of a basketball.

After getting my second load from the well pad I arrived at Tidewater in Steubenville to unload in the rail cars. I was able to stand in the rail road tracks next to the oil railcars. They are very large and I was able to put my hand 8 feet up in the air next to the railcars. This bigfoot was taller. I'm 6'6 and I must put this bigfoot no smaller than 9 feet tall.

At first I was thinking it was a dude in a suit or hunting outfit. But no, it couldn't be. Everything is green and it was turkey season. You don't wear all brown and a long hair suit to hunt turkeys.

What I saw that day is still in my mind.

ENVIRONMENT: Rail road tracks. I was passing over top of them driving north at 55 mph.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator James Thompson:

I contacted the witness by phone on the afternoon of the posting of the report. We had an extended conversation of his sighting in which he brought out more details about the brief sighting. The following morning I went to the location to check out the details we spoke about.

Although the sighting lasted only a couple seconds and was concentrated on the creature standing on the railroad tracks, the witness made numerous passes by the location that day and took note of the surrounding area.

As I drove over the bridge that he viewed the creature from, looking in the same direction, I made notes of what to look for when I got to ground level. The witness noted that the creature was standing in the middle of the tracks near a sign which it towered over. There wasn’t any road along the tracks, so I had to park at the crossing and walk down to the location. One of the first things I noticed was the weed growth beside the track bed was very thick, too thick to try to penetrate and it was about nine to ten feet tall. It was as if I was walking down a tall walled corridor. As I got closer to where the creature was sighted, the brush got thinner and was only around 6 foot tall.

I noticed two openings in the overgrowth. One was a circle about 12 feet around, created by tamping those weeds down flat. About fifteen feet later there was a path on the same side of the tracks as the circle. Looking at a topographical map of the area and the path led to a draw or crevice going up the steep hill away from the tracks.

The day I was walking down the tracks, the witness was making one of his runs and when he passed the area he saw me and called me. He asked if I was on the tracks and I told him yes. He said “Man, you look tiny!”.

I found the sign mentioned by the witness, which notified trains to whistle for an upcoming crossing. I’m 5 ft. 10 in. tall and the sign was a little taller than me. The sign was 150 yards from the roadway and the creature was about 20 yards beyond the sign.

The creature was reported at standing with it’s side to the bridge looking up in the direction of a tall bare tree or in the direction of the top of the hill.

There was very clear weather that morning so the witness was able to make out details of it’s length of hair and color along with body details. Able to see the side facing him, the witness reported that the feet filled up most of the space between the tracks leaving about 8-12 inches front and rear. The bright sun gave the hair a light brown color and was long and shaggy.

From what he could see the chest area seemed to be very dark or black. It’s height was about four feet taller than the sign placing the creature to be more than ten feet tall. The body was very thick with the legs being extremely muscular. What stood out was the size of it’s bicep/shoulder area very bulging like a large ball.

I sat down with the witness recently because we couldn’t schedule a time sooner. His story did not falter from the report and our earlier conversations. I was able to update him on what I found on the ground that day. I found him to be a very credible witness. His is not the first report of a bigfoot standing near Route 7 near the Ohio River.
