A woman was driving south along Nursery Road at 8.20pm when she noticed a light dropping in the sky directly ahead of her. The witness stopped the car and got out, and watched astonished as the object flew past her position, still fairly high in the sky, and headed towards Mt Gravatt. The witness jumped in her car and drove the remaining distance to her house, where she had three friends waiting. They all came out and observed a red light flashing in the distance. A second object appeared that travelled eastwards a short distance before ascending directly upwards at great speed until out of sight. A third object then appeared and manoeuvred identically. At this time the first object made a return appearance and roughly retraced its original path across the sky. Red and white lights were seen on the edge of the object that flashed in such a way as to give the impression of a single rotating light. At the front of the object was a single, very powerful headlight.
