The U-28 Creature - aquatic crocodile-like cryptid
The U-28 Creature is named after the SM U-28, a German U boat that was used in World War I. The creature itself was spotted by crew aboard the boat on July 30th, 1915. The SM U-28 sent a torpedo hurtling underwater toward a British cargo ship called the SS Iberian. The Iberian was hit and sunk. Commander von Forstner of the U-28 claimed that the wreckage of the Iberian stayed visable for about half a minute before an explosion sent it rocketing into the sky.
Among the flying debris, was an enormous animal that “resembled an aquatic crocodile, which was about sixty feet long, with four limbs resembling large webbed feet, a long, pointed tail and a head which also tapered to a point.” The mysterious animal quickly dove under the water and was never seen again.
This sighting is now widely believed to be a hoax, however some still like to believe in the creature’s existence.
