Michael Dennin has been Professor of Physics and Astronomy at UCI since 1997, and was appointed the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning and Dean, Division of Undergraduate Education in May 2015. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Princeton University, and his PhD and Masters in Physics from UCSB.
His research focuses on the dynamics of foams, Langmuir monolayers, and modeling of ice mélange. These studies in complex fluids are crucial for many applications, including foam use in oil recovery as well as granular matter in the form of powders and pills in the medical industry. Professor Dennin has been very active in translating educational research to practical applications within the university.
He has appeared on numerous television programs – including Science of Superman, Spider-man Tech, Batman Tech, Star Wars Tech, and Ancient Aliens. You can also find Prof. Dennin in the YouTube series Fascinating Fights debating the outcome of battles between pop icons. In addition, Prof. Dennin serves as an expert on the podcast Fascinating Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gear-Based Technologies where he explains how to make fictional technology a reality. Recently, he published a science outreach book on the intersection between science and faith: Divine Science: Finding Reason at the Heart of Faith, from Franciscan Media.

Daniel J. Glenn is an independent digital producer and podcast host. He has created several shows that exist at the intersection of pop culture and science including the podcast Fascinating Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gear-Based Technologies (FGGGbT). FGGGbT takes a look at technology that exists in popular culture, such as TV and movies, then teaches you how they would work in real life.
Mr. Glenn also hosts an interview style podcast entitled “Fascinating Nouns” and has interviewed several Contact in the Desert alumni, including Linda Moulton Howe, David Childress, Peter Levenda, Stanton Friedman, and Erich Von Daniken.
Ben Siepser
Ben Siepser is an electrical and computer engineer specializing in digital design. His designs have flown on nearly 70 different missions to space. However he has now turned his sights inward to the human mind, and is working on devices to unlock the secrets of the brain. Ben is a huge science fiction fan, he grew up watching numerous space shows and movies as well as reading many space books. Currently he cannot wait for Season 4 of The Expanse.

FASCINATING GADETS, GIZMOS & GEAR-BASED TECHNOLOGIES: EXPLAINING THE SCIENCE BEHIND EXTRATERRESTRIAL TECHNOLOGY
Since the Roswell crash in 1947, reports have surfaced describing the incredible capabilities of Unidentified Flying Objects. Witnesses have claimed to see these UFOs make 90 degree turns while operating at speeds that far exceed any known aircraft. As a regular on Ancient Aliens, Dr. Michael Dennin has discussed a wide range of alien theories, potential alien technologies, and potential alien events. Alien Tech and events often appear to defy explanation. As a friendly skeptic and member of the brain trust on the podcast Fascinating Gadgets, Gizmos, and Gear-based Technologies, his specialty is placing the apparently unexplainable in the context of current scientific understanding. For this workshop, Michael Dennin will interact with the audience and address their questions of alien tech and events. The challenge is to “Stump the Friendly Skeptic” with something that he cannot discuss in terms of science.
DR. MICHAEL MASTERS
Dr. Michael P. Masters is a professor of biological anthropology at Montana Tech in Butte, Montana. He received a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the Ohio State University in 2009, where he specialized in human evolutionary anatomy, archaeology, and biomedicine.
Dr. Masters spent the following decade developing a broad academic background that unites the fields of anthropology, astronomy, astrobiology and physics, to examine the premise that UFOs and Aliens are simply our distant human descendants, returning from the future to study us in their own hominin evolutionary past.
His new book, Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon, challenges readers to consider new possibilities while cultivating conversations about our ever-evolving understanding of time and time travel.

TIME TRAVEL & HUMAN EVOLUTION: A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO THE UFO PHENOMENON
This presentation cautiously examines the premise that “UFOs” and “aliens” are our distant human descendants, returning from the future to study us in their own hominin evolutionary past. Dr. Michael P. Masters, a professor of biological anthropology, and author of the recently published book Identified Flying Objects, synthesizes current research from the fields of anthropology, astronomy, astrobiology and physics to investigate this potentiality. More specifically, this talk explores how persistent 6-million-year trends in human evolution, if continued into the future, are likely to result in the same physical and behavioral traits consistently described in authentic reports of close encounters with “alien” beings. This presentation seeks to offer a unique perspective and novel multidisciplinary approach to investigating the UFO phenomenon, drawing from current scholarly research related to human origins, extraterrestrial life, and the physics of time and time travel, while also discussing the role that science and scientists play in helping to answer big questions related to enigmatic aspects of the natural world.

In this workshop, Dr. Masters examines well-documented cases of alien abductions and other instances of close encounters in the context of the Extratempestrial model, which proposes that these big-headed, big-eyed, small-faced, hairless, bipedal beings are merely our distant human descendants, using the anthropological tool of time travel to visit and study us in their own ancestral past. Here we delve deeper into human evolution, technology, artificial intelligence, genetic engineering, the implications of time travel and cross-temporal contact, as well as what aspects of alien encounters may suggest that these beings originate in, and are visiting us from – our distant human future.
