Teen encounters female Bigfoot and receives telepathic 'mind speak' warning in Kettle Creek, Kentucky

WITNESS ACCOUNT
“This happened when I was a teenage girl in an area of Kentucky called Kettle Creek. I was staying on a 500-acre property known as ‘God’s Land.’
“I had been walking through the woods with a friend’s dog when we crossed a small creek. On the other side, I noticed something bent over among the blackberry bushes. The dog saw it before I did and reacted in a way I had never seen before.
“She began lunging toward it, snarling, barking, growling, and snapping at the air. I kept looking back and forth between the dog and the creature, which I initially believed was a black bear. The dog seemed to be trying to keep its attention focused on her so I could escape.
“I was panicking internally because I was deathly afraid of bears.
“When I looked back at the creature, it stood upright and faced me. Its head was turned slightly as it appeared to watch both the dog and me at the same time. Its expression seemed serious, although I could not clearly interpret it.
“I locked eyes with it for several seconds. I could not understand what I was seeing. Despite being terrified, I had a clear view of its face and tried to absorb as many details as possible.
“It did not have the face of a bear. There was no muzzle or protruding snout. Black hair, with reddish coloring around the forehead and cheeks, outlined the structure of its face.
“Its eyes seemed expressive, but I could not read them. The face was rounded. There was no beard or mustache, although hair extended across the upper cheeks. Its eyes were large and glistening, dark brown, with a small amount of white visible along the outer edges. Its eyelashes were dark, either black or dark brown.
“The nose was somewhat human in shape, but much larger and slightly flattened or spread outward. Its mouth was extremely wide, almost too large for its face, and its lips were thin. Thankfully, I never saw its teeth.
“For some reason, I could not stop looking at its mouth.
“Then I heard the words, ‘Control the dog, or it will be no more.’
“I looked at the dog and tried to coax her toward me. When I looked back at the creature, I could not understand how it had spoken because its mouth had never moved.
“My eyes returned to its mouth, and I heard the same words again. This time, the message was much more demanding.
“I grabbed the dog by the scruff of her neck and tried to pull her beside me, but she broke free. When I looked up again, the creature’s eyes were fixed on the dog. I knew that if I did not regain control of her, the dog was going to die.
“I grabbed the dog again, this time with a firmer grip, and pulled her toward me. As I did, a strange feeling of calm suddenly surrounded both of us. I began pushing the dog to my left and away from a boulder behind me. My attention remained on the dog rather than the creature.
“When I finally released her, the dog ran toward the front meadow without waiting for me.
“I briefly turned back toward the creature. It was beginning to turn away and bend down into the blackberry bushes again. That was when I noticed its breasts moving as it turned. I realized the creature was female.
“I have often wondered why I did not examine the rest of its body more carefully. At the time, I decided to leave it alone. It had not attacked or eaten me, despite the frightening stories I had heard from people around the property.
“That evening, shortly before sunset, I heard another voice inside my head. This voice felt deeper than the first.
“It said, ‘Now that you have seen us, we will have to come get you.’
“That message frightened me so badly that I packed everything I owned and left early the following morning. I told no one on the property what had happened. I did not know how to explain something that I did not understand myself.
“I interpreted the second voice as belonging to the female creature’s brother, although I was never certain what he meant by saying they would come to get me. Looking back, I believe the encounter may have been the beginning of my learning about them.
“At the time, I knew nothing about Bigfoot. It was not until the early 1990s, when I saw portions of the Patterson-Gimlin film, that I realized other people had reported similar creatures. Until then, I did not know that anyone else had experienced anything like this.
“I hitchhiked throughout the United States and usually traveled alone. I did not enjoy traveling with other people. I liked having the freedom to remain somewhere for a while or move quickly to my next destination.
“It would be almost unheard of today for a teenage girl to hitchhike alone across the country, but that was my life. I loved the freedom and the peace I found in the wilderness.”
COMMENTARY
Several elements make this account particularly unusual. The witness described an extended daylight observation at close enough range to distinguish the creature’s facial anatomy, eye color, eyelashes, lips, and reddish highlights in the hair. She also identified the creature as female after observing visible breasts as it turned and returned to the blackberry bushes.
Reports of female Bigfoot-type creatures are less common than encounters involving large, apparently male figures. However, witnesses have occasionally described breasts, smaller body proportions, or behavior interpreted as protective, cautious, or maternal. The berry-gathering behavior in this report is also consistent with an omnivorous animal taking advantage of a readily available seasonal food source.
The dog’s aggressive reaction is significant, although not conclusive. Dogs often respond strongly to unfamiliar wildlife, scents, or perceived threats. In this case, the witness believed the dog was deliberately attempting to distract the creature and protect her. The creature, meanwhile, appeared more concerned with stopping the dog than attacking the witness.
The alleged telepathic communication, commonly called “mind speak” within Bigfoot research circles, moves this case beyond a conventional wildlife encounter. Similar experiencers describe receiving complete words, emotional impressions, commands, or warnings internally without observing vocalization or mouth movement. This phenomenon remains anecdotal and cannot currently be independently verified.
The first message had an immediate and practical purpose: control the dog or the dog would be killed. The second message, received near sunset, was more ambiguous and threatening. It is important to distinguish the witness’s experience from her interpretation. She believed the deeper second voice belonged to the female creature’s brother, but no visual confirmation of another creature was reported.
Psychological explanations may include an intense stress response, internally generated thoughts interpreted as external communication, memory reconstruction, or a hypnagogic-like auditory experience. However, the first message allegedly occurred during an active confrontation and corresponded directly with the creature’s attention toward the dog.
The exact property called “God’s Land” has not been independently identified. A Kettle Creek is documented in south-central Kentucky near the Cumberland and Monroe County region, an area characterized by creeks, wooded ridges, farms, and sparsely populated rural terrain. Whether this is the precise location described by the witness remains unconfirmed.

FAQ
What is Bigfoot “mind speak”?
Mind speak is a term used by some witnesses to describe words, emotions, commands, or mental impressions they believe were transmitted by a Bigfoot-type creature without audible speech.
Are female Bigfoot creatures commonly reported?
Female Bigfoot reports are comparatively uncommon, but some witnesses have described visible breasts, smaller physical builds, juveniles nearby, or behavior interpreted as protective or maternal.
Could the creature have been a black bear?
The witness initially believed it was a bear. However, she later reported a flat, humanlike face without a muzzle, a prolonged upright posture, visible eye whites, and other features she considered inconsistent with those of a bear.
Was the second voice confirmed to be another creature?
No. The witness interpreted the deeper voice as belonging to the female creature’s brother, but she did not report seeing a second figure.
Was the exact location verified?
No. Kettle Creek is a documented Kentucky place name, but the specific 500-acre property called “God’s Land” has not been independently confirmed.
