South Texas wolf-like encounter chasing shifting shadows near the Rio Grande

Riding solo down a dusty rural road just outside Mission, Texas, I glanced back to see a figure in white jogging behind me, only to watch it morph into a pale wolf or husky before vanishing altogether. What I experienced that day in “The Divergent Diamond” zone raises the uneasy question: was it a trick of the mind, a cryptid, or something like a skinwalker stalking the borderlands?

"I live in South Texas, just about five minutes from the Mexican border, specifically in Mission, Texas. One day, I was out riding my bike for exercise along a series of dirt roads that connect my mom's house to the Rio Grande River, which separates Mexico from the United States. I had taken this route many times before, and there was usually little to no traffic or other people around, so I was always alone.

This particular experience occurred in broad daylight while I was heading back home. I was around two miles away from my mom's house when I glanced over my shoulder and noticed someone dressed in white, possibly in sweatpants and a sweater, jogging behind me along the dirt road in this rural, undeveloped area. I felt a surge of panic; I was used to being entirely alone out there. So, I pedaled a little faster.

A few moments later, I looked back again, but instead of a person, I saw something that resembled a wolf or an Alaskan husky. It was as if the person I had seen earlier had transformed into a completely white dog.

I pedaled even faster and turned around one last time, but there was nothing behind me anymore. Even so, my heart was racing from how real this experience felt. I was convinced that something had been following me in an area where I typically felt utterly alone, which was quite unsettling. I have returned to that spot since, but I haven't experienced anything like that again." P

NOTE: Could it have been a skinwalker or some other type of shapeshifting being? The region in South Texas has a rich history of bizarre sightings and encounters. Mission, TX, is part of a cluster of smaller cities, including McAllen, TX. If you connect a line from McAllen northwest to Laredo, northeast to San Antonio, and then back southeast to Corpus Christi and southwest back to McAllen, you outline what I refer to as "The Divergent Diamond." I've heard of stranger events in this specific area more than anywhere else in the USA. Lon
