A Michigan father and son saw their weekend fishing trip take a wondrous turn when they encountered a mysterious creature they suspect could have been Sasquatch. The intriguing sighting, which occurred this past Sunday morning near the town of Monroe, was reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) by witness Edward Henry. While venturing into a marsh, he recalled, the duo's dog "scared up something that was bedded there," causing a tree-shaking commotion that they initially attributed to some deer. The father and son later second-guessed that assessment when they stumbled upon something truly unusual.

As they made their way out of the marsh, they "heard rustling in a tree," followed by "a huge thud hitting the ground." Turning their attention to the direction of the noise, the pair saw a large animal that crouched in some brush before approaching the father and son. The duo's dog dutifully ran towards the creature, which caused it to make a hasty retreat with the canine in hot pursuit until Henry called the protective pooch back to them. Collecting their bearings, his son marveled, "what was that?? It was as big as a bear, but it looked like a gorilla!" The subsequent sound of additional rustling in the brush prompted the pair to smartly leave the area while wondering what they had just experienced.

After Henry reported the incident to the BFRO, investigator Matthew Moneymaker spoke to the duo, who provided additional details about the eerie event. According to his report, they described seeing "a large dark-furred primate that ran up a slope on two legs looking like a gorilla from behind." The pair observed that the bipedal creature was hunched over, yet still appeared to be around six feet tall in that position and, as such, would have likely been considerably taller had it stood upright. Alas, Moneymaker noted, the sighting lasted "less than ten seconds," which prevented the stunned pair from photographing the possible Bigfoot that they briefly encountered.
