Loch Ness Monster makes fifth ‘appearance’ of the year, after another sighting in the Loch Dochfour area...

...this time from a USA tourist visiting the Highlands, Inverness and Great Glen

A recent cluster of Loch Ness Monster sightings has taken Nessie’s total for the year up to five.

Three ‘in-person’ sightings and one made via webcam had already been reported in the year to date.

But now another visitor has stepped forward to add their own potential sighting to the total, after spotting an unexplained shape on the loch last month.

Sara Gubicza, who was visiting the loch from the USA with her husband, spotted something on April 21 at around 7.55am.

The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, which has just added her sighting to its files said she had reported seeing what looked like white shark fin moving in the water.

She told the Register: “The fin size was about an 18 inch triangle and it was whitish grey.

“As far as how fast it was moving, I’m not really sure as I was on a bus riding by when I saw it.

“It seemed to be right in the middle of the loch. It wasn’t close to any shore line. It was close to Loch Dochfour and before the Urquhart Castle coming from Inverness. Because we were coming from Inverness, we were going south and the fin was going the opposite direction so north."

Her sighting added to a recent busy period for Nessie sightings in late April, with two others from April 23 and 25 already previously recorded by the Official Register.

The recent flurry of appearances - which included two others in March - stands in contrast to the previous half a year, when no Nessie sightings were made.
