Lobizon sighting: Hair covered creature with long snout, Argentina
Location: Parque Urquiza, Parana, Argentina
Date: July 1989 Time: night
On a cold July night (winter is reversed in the southern hemisphere) engineering student Juan Carlos S and his girlfriend Lorena were parked on a dark street right under a bridge called “Puente de los Suspiros” (The Bridge of Sighs). Juan Carlos was sitting with his back to the to the driver’s side door facing his Lorena, when he suddenly he “felt” as if someone or something was watching them and felt a presence behind him, he turned suddenly to see a bizarre creature only separated from him by the glass of the car window. At first, he thought he was looking at a very strange dog. The creature had a long snout and was completely covered with hair with two large eyes that stared at the witness with a penetrating gaze. His only reaction was to press the car horn and at the same time realizing that it was not a large dog, since the creature suddenly stood on its two hind legs and ran up a nearby hill towards the central section of the park.
Even though terrified, Juan Carlos decided to follow the creature and investigate what it was (he did not want to be thought of as a coward by Lorena). He drove the car up the hill. He drove up to the parking area next to the Justo Jose de Urquiza monument and was surprised to see a man shining a flashlight at the top of a nearby tree, while a woman inside a car next time was screaming in terror. He walked up to the man who introduced himself as Pedro P. while his girlfriend attended to Pedro’s friend in the car. Pedro tells Juan Carlos that while parked by the embankment they clearly saw running up the hill towards them a strange creature that jumped over the hood of their Fiat 128 and then climbed up the said tree. Pedro immediately grabbed his flashlight and attempted to locate the creature, but it seemed to have vanished.
According to Pedro the creature was about 2m in height, running on two large hind legs and with the front arms similar to humans, it resembled a bipedal wolf completely covered in hair and very agile, it also stared at Pedro and his girlfriend with a penetrating gaze before disappearing up the tree. Later an inspection of the Fat’s hood revealed what appeared to be deep scratches and a small dent.
