The witness was enroute to a business her husband had with a partner. It was late afternoon when they called her to help out as one of the employees did not come in to work that evening. She dressed and drove through “the bottom,” a shorter route from Arlington to Hurst, Texas, which was travelled quite a lot although the roads were not well paved.

She arrived midway just shortly before dusk. She slowed down when she noticed a pulsing glow ahead. As she turned the next curve in the road, she saw a huge liver domed structure in the field. The closer she came, the larger she realized it was. She noticed two cars parked on the east side of the road facing south and toward her. They were apparently watching the same thing, and then she pulled off as well. She could not imagine what it was and thought it was either a Bell Helicopter project tor a promotional gimmick. She waited awhile (turned her motor off) and began observing how really big it was and the activity around it. I was silver and domed shaped in design. The bottom was flat and stood upon “legs”; the center had a shaft of light and was used to lower objects. There was a flat bed truck parked about 30 feet from this object. There were about 10 ‘people’ (she could not see their faces) with silver helmets (type of that construction workers and oil field workers used in the 40’s) and regular work clothes, removing small cardboard type boxes (about 12 inches square) from the shaft of light (elevator presumably) to the flatbed truck. It was done with precision, and she sat there for a time…she doesn’t know how long; it could have been 5 to 20 minutes. Suddenly, the car directly in front of her turned its headlights on and sped off past her (south). Immediately the second car did the same. She didn’t think to get make or model of either car.

Whether she realized danger or that they were not supposed to see whatever it was that they were seeing, she doesn’t know, she just knew she needed to leave. She then started her car (1958 Holiday Oldsmobile) and did the same as the others. She, of course, headed north. When she reached her destination, one of the partners asked her what was wrong, and she found it very embarrassing to relate what she had seen. She doesn’t remember what his reaction was, but he did not question her. Later that same evening, her husband and children came. She told her husband, and he promised that he would follow her through the bottom on their way home (about 10pm). They didn’t see anything, no lights no activity. Her husband was a little skeptical of her story, therefore she did not tell anyone other than calling her mother and her sister.

The next day she drove back through the bottom and stopped where she had been the previous night. The field looked as if it had been mowed in a large area. She did not get out, she did not investigate whether it had been recently mowed, and she felt a little ridiculous going to Bell Helicopter at the time
