Haunted Massachusetts mansion sold
A notoriously haunted mansion in Massachusetts has reportedly been sold to a group of owners who have big plans for the future of the spooky residence. Located in the city of Gardner, the S.K. Pierce Mansion was built in 1875 by a furniture magnate whose wife passed away shortly after the family moved into the home. In later years, the building served as a boarding house, where it has long been claimed that multiple people perished under strange circumstances, including one individual who was allegedly the victim of spontaneous human combustion. In recent years, the mansion has become a popular destination for ghost hunters, which is why some concerns were raised back in April when it was revealed that the spooky residence had been put up for sale.
Fortunately for paranormal enthusiasts fearful that the haunted location might wind up being closed to the public, it was announced on Saturday that the spacious house had been sold to four Gardner residents who "will be greatly expanding all the houses’ offerings" for fans of high strangeness. To that end, a subsequent social media post indicated that short historic tours and longer ghost hunts will continue being conducted at the residence. The group also announced that, in response to countless requests over the years, the S.K. Pierce Mansion will "finally" begin offering overnight stays for paranormal investigators or general thrill seekers.
"They’ll be given a tour guide who will stay with them throughout their stay and help them with the ghost hunts or whatever else they want to do," co-owner John Godino explained, "the whole house will be theirs, but we’ll have an employee on-site with them the whole time." Beyond that, the group hopes to attract media companies looking to use the mansion as a backdrop for film and television projects. Additionally, Godino said, "we also want to reach out to YouTubers and podcasters – even the smaller ones just trying to get off the ground – because we really want to get people to showcase the house on social media," suggesting that we will be seeing a lot more of the S.K. Pierce Mansion in the future as the new ownership era gets underway.
