Family blames goblin for boy's mysterious day-long disappearance in Honduras
The family of a young boy who mysteriously went missing in Honduras before being discovered the following day believes that a goblin was to blame for the unsettling incident. According to a local media report, the curious case began last Wednesday when three-year-old Cristian Bismar Espino Corrales vanished while playing outside of his grandfather's home. The tot's disappearance set off a frantic search in his community as many feared that the youngster may have gotten swept up in the nearby Tiscagua River, which had swelled due to torrential rain. When the boy was found the following day, his loved ones noticed something peculiar about his condition, which led to a fantastic theory for what had happened to him.
Strangely, the youngster was completely dry, despite there having been considerable rain during his disappearance. As such, his family argued that the boy did not simply wander away from his grandfather's yard and get lost. Instead, they posted that the toddler was the victim of a supernatural entity that spirited him away out of the elements. "We believe that it was a goblin," declared one family member, "because where we live is a very desirable place for evil things." They went on to cite "similar cases have already passed, like a girl who disappeared and returned years later."
As for why the boy did not suffer a similar fate, his grandmother explained that they had called upon the goblin to return the youngster and promised "that we would give him whatever he asked for." In this instance, she said, the entity requested "a red handkerchief and a red shirt," which they presumably furnished prior to the boy being found the following day. While some will undoubtedly scoff at the family's story, the fact that the toddler returned relatively unscathed will certainly strengthen their conviction that the frightening incident was the work of a mischievous goblin in search of some new clothes.
