Crab-like 'La Mona' cryptid video from Costa Rica (Captures/drawings)

For over a year, ever since this video was widely released, there has been a debate as to the authenticity of the supposed 'cryptid.' The CCTV recording of an unknown entity was said to be the local legend "La Mona" or "ghoul" in Costa Rica (also referred to as Mona Bruja, Monkey Witch and Dwarf Witch throughout Central America). The Monas are also described as angry women who transform in order to go in search of the men who abandoned them. Those people who have watched the video have debated whether or not the bizarre figure in the video was actually a human mimicking the cryptid legend.

A Phantoms & Monsters reader and illustrator, Jose Sanchez, recreated the scene in his drawing below:

There seems to be various versions and interpretations of this cryptid. What are your thoughts on this legend and video. Is it real or a hoax?

Have you had a sighting or encounter?
