Colorado hiker photographs weird 'humanoid figure' atop mountain

A hiker in Colorado photographed a weird anomaly that bears an uncanny resemblance to a humanoid figure standing atop a mountain. Jeffrey Winzenried reportedly took the interesting image (seen below) on August 19th as he and his brother visited the state's Humboldt Peak, which boasts a towering 14,068-foot summit. Wanting to save his legs for some other arduous climbs the pair had planned for that week, he stood back and watched as his brother ascended the mountain. While waiting for his brother to return from the summit, Winzenried explained, "I used my phone to take some photos of the switchbacks and zoomed in to try and see him," which is when he noticed something rather unusual.

"As I was taking this photo," he recalled, "I saw what looked to be a person appear by walking forward to the crest of the false summit and then disappear backwards moments later." When his brother later returned, Winzenried learned that he had been the only climber there when the picture was taken, and he was nowhere near the spot where the anomaly had been seen. The bewildered hiker later shared his photo on a Colorado hiking Facebook group in the hopes that someone could identify what the perceived figure could have been. As one might imagine, theories ranged from the prosaic, such as an unaccounted-for individual or simply a rock, to the fantastic, including aliens or a ghost.
