Large silent aircraft lights that didn’t reflect flying low slowly over a hill approaching a farm the memory is hard to focus on

I was driving home and I looked up to see 3 or 4 lights roughly 20ft above the approaching small hill a quarter to half mile away. As I approached this craft I noticed no sound, I wasn’t blinded by the lights, and I couldn’t see them shining on the ground. My truck wasn’t illuminated as I would’ve imagined. The craft was moving very slowly and didn’t seem to acknowledge my presence. I remember laughing and saying “what the hell are you doing?” I passed the craft which seemed to almost not be moving. I looked over my shoulder and there wasn’t anything to see. I kept looking back as it was heading in the direction of the airport, I was driving away. There was never a sense of fear, and the memory seems almost foggy, but it’s more like I have to focus extra to remember or visualize. I fly drones recreationally so I’m familiar with this airports no fly circle. I’ve driven this road home a million times and seen where airplanes are when they are on approach.

This craft was low, it got as close as 20-30 ft., it was a boomerang shape, the lights weren’t blinking, and from what I could see of the back it was black. I turned my head very fast to keep an eye on it because my concern was a possible plane or helicopter flying insanely low, but it was like the craft knew it lost my direct sight and vanished. I’ve lived here my whole life, I know that 10-12 mile stretch of road like an image, I’m 36, and I’ve never seen anything like that before or since. I hear airplanes 1000ft above my house as they flyover. This craft should’ve been screaming with noise. The lights seemed to be looking at me, and that’s most likely another reason why I laughed.

Witness: K

On 5-29-2025 at 11am, I interviewed K regarding his boomerang UFO sighting on 3-14-2025. K stated that he was driving home at approximately 11pm and first observed 3 to 4 white lights approximately 20 feet above a small hill in front of him. K stated that the lights were approximately a half mile from his location. K then stated that as he approached the lights, he also observed a dark boomerang shaped craft hovering above the small hill. K also stated that he was unsure if the 3 to 4 lights he saw were attached to the hovering craft.

K stated that as he approached the craft in front of him, he noticed that it was hovering approximately 5 to 10 feet off the ground. K then stated that he was about 20 feet from the craft as he passed it. He also stated that the lights were very bright, but didn't hurt his eyes when he looked directly at them nor did the lights illuminate the ground or the inside of his truck. K estimated that the craft was approximately 50 feet wide from wing tip to wing tip, and the distance between the lights was approximately 10 feet.

K stated that the craft was obviously hovering over the small hill, but it was completely silent. He then stated that if the craft was any type of normal aircraft that he sees all the time in that area, he would have heard the engines. K added that the San Luis Obispo Regional Airport is nearby, and he sees/hears numerous aircraft flying towards the airport daily, but the craft he saw on 3-14-2025 was nothing like he's ever seen before. K also stated that he flies drones in the same area, and what he saw was no drone.

K stated that the craft was curved just like a boomerang and what appeared to be the front of the craft was facing north towards the airport. K stated that the weather was clear with no wind, and he was unable to see any lights inside the craft, or anything that looked like a cockpit. K also stated that the lights were not blinking. K stated that he remembers laughing and talking to himself when he saw the craft, which he states is completely out of character.

K stated that as he passed the craft, he looked forward at the road, then quickly looked back where the craft was, and observed that it had vanished. K stated that it was a split second when he looked at the road, then back at where the craft was. K then stated that he didn't hear anything or see any air disruption like grass or trees moving.

K mentioned that he had some memory issues regarding the sighting. He stated that there wasn't any sense of fear, anxiety, or stress when trying to recall the incident; he just had some trouble remembering parts of the sighting. For example, K stated that he didn't remember driving home or going to bed after the sighting. K also mentioned that for the past 3 to 4 months, he has had dreams that began chaotic, but ended very calmly. K stated that the dreams were feelings only.

Conclusion

K has lived in the area of the sighting all his life and is experienced with aircraft sightings on the road he was driving during the boomerang sighting. K stated that he will send me a drawing of the boomerang to add to this report to help us understand better what he saw. I checked FlightRadar24 and couldn't find anything. I am classifying this as an anomalous sighting.
