I was camped just outside of Jarrahdale on the edge of the forest. Friday during the day and night was fine, but Saturday about 1-2pm I started getting this feeling I was being watched but I just thought it was my imagination.

Then my dog (at the time a 9 month old Rottweiler) started going ballistic which he had never done before.

About 7pm when it was pitch black, all hell broke loose. I could hear massive branches being snapped, too big to be a man breaking them (it was probably 50-60 feet away), then after 30 seconds or so I just got this really intense feeling to just get the hell out of there.

But I soon as I started my car, (I have a V8 Troopy) whatever it was started charging at the car smashing everything in its way and it sounded like a rhino running at me.

I had to do a 3 point turn to get into the place I had parked, but f**k that, left hand down and drove straight over the hedges in the way and kept going.

I’d never really heard of yowies before but I described my experience to a few people (I’m currently travelling Australia) and a lot of them said it was a yowie.

I honestly don’t know if they are real but whatever this thing was it was massive and strong, no man or kangeroo or anything else down that way that we know of could have done that. So after that if I had to make a bet I’d say that they are real.
