Bigfoot remains to be showcased at New York State Fair?
A self-proclaimed cryptozoologist claims that he has come into possession of a dead Bigfoot that he will showcase at the New York State Fair later this month; however, those in the Sasquatch research community say the alleged find is not on the level. According to an eyebrow-raising press release detailing the forthcoming exhibition, Charles "Snake" Stuart stumbled upon the "complete and remarkably intact body" (seen below) during an October 2024 expedition in the Adirondack Mountains. The announcement, which is not short on hyperbole, describes the development as "one of the most monumental biological discoveries in recorded history."
As for why the unfathomable find will be showcased at the New York State Fair, rather than a reputable scientific venue, the press release asserts that "dragging a Bigfoot carcass into a research institution is simply not a possibility, so we are raising awareness as best we can on this specimen." Entry to the exhibition comes at the unusual asking price of $9.31 for a ticket to view what are being touted as "real Bigfoot remains" that will be on display from August 20th to September 1st. For those unable to make the trip to see the alleged body for themselves, you are in luck, as the website and an accompanying Instagram account for the event feature additional photos of the purported specimen when it was found in a forest.
While both the press release and the website play the situation completely straight with no indication that the exhibition is for entertainment purposes only, to call the audacious claim suspicious would be an understatement. To that end, shortly after the press release was issued, seasoned Sasquatch researcher Steve Kulls declared that the discovery was almost certainly a hoax being perpetuated by a performance artist with a history of such stunts. His assessment was echoed by Matt Moneymaker, founder of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, who blasted the forthcoming event in a blistering post on the group's Facebook page.
