Location. Diamantina, Ferrara, Italy

Date: September 1977 Time: 06:30 a.m.

The 33-year old witness, a professional trader of agricultural machinery, had gotten up very early as usual and was on his way to work in the fields. Approaching the village of Diamantina, he notices what at first, he thought was a ‘child’ standing on the road at about 100 meters away. Intrigued he wondered what a young child is doing alone early in the morning in this agricultural area. He then slows his truck and approaches the ‘child’. As he approaches the figure the headlights of his truck clearly illuminate it and at this point the witness realizes that the figure was not a child at all but a strange looking ‘little man’ wearing a silvery gray suit. He was now only at about 50 yards from the strange figure and sees everything more clearly and distinctly. It was a sort of being with arms that hung well below its knees. Confused the witness stares at the figure and notices that it appeared to be carrying a stalk of corn in one of its hands. At this point the witness stops his truck and is literally terrified.

He is looking directly neither at a person or a child but a being with a very large head and large eyes that occupy almost entirely the facial area, there is no trace of ears, nose or mouth, only dot-like impressions. Not knowing what to do, he starts his vehicle and drives by the strange figure he turns around, slows down and no longer sees the figure. Dismounting his vehicle, he searched the immediate area for any traces of the strange creature but finds nothing. A little shaken he drives to work and does not tell anybody what he saw. Later he confides on his wife, mother and a friend from work who confesses that on the same morning he had also seen a similar figure on the road, two hours later.
