Late on this particular night, Mrs. J. P. went into her kitchen to have a cigarette because she felt unaccountably restless. As the room was bright enough from a streetlamp outside, she did not switch on the light. Suddenly her attention was attracted by a white object, which seemed to stand just outside her kitchen window. She went closer to the window, which is very low, and to her surprise discovered a “four-foot-tall thing” as she called it. The being had a round head with two very bright eyes, which had a phosphorescent glow. They were three times as large as normal eyes. Around the head or helmet there was a sort of halo or flame. The witness did not see any mouth or nose, but she did notice what seemed to be “laces” around the neck of the “thing”. She said the shoulders were not square like humans’ but sloped down from the head or helmet about a 45-degree angle. Far from being afraid of the apparition, Mrs. J P said it somehow looked beautiful to her. She said she was actually attracted by it and could not move away. It was only when the “thing” vanished after about 15 seconds that she suddenly realized something very strange was going on. Running into the bedroom she awakened her husband who dressed, turned on the outside light and searched all around the house without finding a trace of any trespasser. But he did notice their dog was crouched on the ground as if “scared to death”. The height of the visitor was estimated to have been about four feet tall. The following night the family cat behaved strangely.
