American tourist spots Loch Ness Monster?
An American woman vacationing at Loch Ness spotted some intriguing disturbances on the water that she believes were a glimpse of the site's famed 'monster.' The sighting reportedly occurred earlier this month when April Newton visited the popular Scottish tourist destination. As is custom for tourists at Loch Ness, she and a friend embarked on a sightseeing cruise hoping to see something unusual. While most visitors return to shore empty-handed, Newton may be one of the lucky few to catch sight of the legendary creature.
Recounting the unforgettable experience, she explained that it unfolded shortly after the boat embarked on its trip around Loch Ness. As the other passengers gathered along the bow, Newton and her friend watched the water from the stern. Suddenly, the pair were stunned to see what she later described as "several serpent-like humps appeared one at a time" that "caused rings of water to ripple out like something was rising from below." Fortunately, Newton managed to snap a few photos (seen here) of the unusual disturbances before they quickly vanished from sight.
Amusingly, she noted that her good fortune was not exactly well-received by the other tourists on the boat after she made them aware of what had just happened. "Some of the group were pretty disgruntled they missed out on seeing it for themselves," Newton recalled, "a few thought it could be something put in the loch and controlled by a remote." That said, the American visitor indicated that the boat operator called the curious humps in the photos "strange" and marveled that "he told me he had been doing this for years and hadn't seen anything like them before."
