Video: Texas psychic assists in search for missing woman

A Texas psychic previously credited with finding a missing man hopes that her gift can also help solve the case of a woman who vanished last year. Medium Vic Andrea made headlines in January when it was revealed that, through visions from the proverbial ether, she had located Eric Allen White after he had wandered away from his San Antonio care home for three days back in December. Shortly after the remarkable story was made public, a heartbroken mother seeking assistance in finding her lost daughter reportedly connected with the psychic to see if she might provide a break in the case.

Katelyn "Kate" Vara went missing under unusual circumstances last August and, since that time, friends and family have diligently looked for the missing woman to no avail. Hearing of Andrea's success with the White disappearance, her mother, Valerie Mendoza, enlisted the psychic in an effort to locate her lost daughter. "She is simply looking to gain closure," the medium mused, explaining that her process involves speaking to family members, from the notes of those conversations, "I get visions, signs, and feelings. That leads me to specific areas, what I would call a hot spot."

This past Sunday saw Andrea, Vara's loved ones, and the non-profit group Search and Support San Antonio scouring one such 'hot spot.' Intriguingly, the team leader of the volunteer group indicated that the medium's insight on where to look "was corroborated by the police." To that end, while Andrea had "almost the same information" provided by authorities, he noted that it included details that they "had not released to the public." The curious confirmation, of sorts, prompted yesterday's search, which appears to have sadly come up short, causing both the psychic and Vara's family to continue looking for the lost woman.
