There is always a reason to smile
Even if it’s hiding amid a pile of pain, we can always find something that will shift us into a positive state of mind. There is always a reason to smile.
I know it may seem like the world is falling apart, but you can also look at it from the perspective that it’s in the process of deep healing. You can smile at the fact that there is a mass awakening to the reality that the way society operates does not currently lead to everyone thriving. It does not nurture the continued personal and collective evolution that could lead to extraordinary leaps in conscious evolution. It needs to fail and disintegrate, and the quicker, the better.
A new conscious paradigm that is one based on more harmony, coherence, and balance can eventually lead to what Sri Aurobindo called supramental transformation. So, in the case of the global challenges and disintegration of the artificial societal matrix completely out of alignment with our greater reality, there is a reason to smile.
We can take it to a more local level and reflect on our personal lives as well. Whatever challenging situation we find ourselves in, there is always something we can focus our attention on and see that it is something to be optimistic about. No situation is ever entirely 100% good or bad. We don’t live in a world of absolutes.
Musician Bert Sommer, in his hit folk-rock song Smile from 1969, poetically reflects what happens when you find a reason to smile.
Smile and the world smiles with you.
Smile, all the love is in your hands.
I love this because it poetically explains how the positive energy you just generated and shared with the world, no matter what may be going on in your life or the world, will help generate positive energy from others as well. This, on a mass scale, elevates the collective consciousness and leads to a more constructive and better experience for everyone. Solutions emerge naturally and problems become resolved. Love is within your hands and your ability to share with others and the whole world. You can literally heal the world, even if it’s in a small way. You just find something positive to focus on and generate more positive energy, which then permeates into the rest of the collective consciousness.
Every one of us is part of the same collective consciousness field. This means we are all affecting one another, with each thought, word, and action we make and take. There’s no getting out of it or away from it as long as you’re in a physical body. This dynamic of everyone affecting everyone else carries with it greater importance when we consider how we think, talk, and act in response to the experiences we have. That’s all anything ever is…an experience.
Any perceived tragedy that occurs is an experience. Any extraordinary success is an experience. It exists within the present, but that’s all. It doesn’t have to exist forever, nor do we need to give it more power over us in the present. If it’s something that is causing us suffering, we can shift our position of awareness to find something positive that can make us smile. That is a vital step for one major reason.
When you attune to a “lower” vibration, you are lining up with a reality where you will be finding a lot more similarly challenging experiences manifest. When you attune to a “higher” vibration, you suddenly find yourself experiencing a lot more better experiences. Your point of focus brings in and aligns you with more of the same as what you focus on.
The next time you find yourself getting anxious, afraid, or angry, search around for something that can raise your vibration and get you out of those self-destructive states of consciousness. While they may sometimes be helpful to experience momentarily, if you hold onto them for too long, they start hurting you and the collective consciousness you are an intimate part of.
