Nostradamus made this catastrophic prediction for the end of 2025
A surprising number of the so-called prophet’s predictions have seemingly come true.
Key Points
- Nostradamus predicted catastrophic events for 2025.
- Quotes seem to reference mass extinction, global conflict, and a new "aquatic empire" leader.
- Several past Nostradamus predictions have supposedly come true.
It’s been nearly 500 years since famed French astrologer and seer Nostradamus walked the Earth, but people are still paying attention to his predictions…especially since he made some pretty alarming claims about what we can expect from the rest of 2025.
Known for his 1555 book Les Prophéties, Nostradamus has been credited with accurately predicting a number of significant world events, including the French revolution, the Great Fire of London, the rise of Napoleon and Hitler and both world wars. Unfortunately, the so-called prophet’s forecast for the end of this year are similarly dark and devastating.
As LADbible reported, one Nostradamus prediction linked to the final months of 2025 reads as follows: “From the cosmos, a fireball will rise / A harbinger of fate, the world pleads / Science and fate in a cosmic dance / The fate of the Earth, a second chance.”
While his somewhat vague writing is up for interpretation, many have taken this particular passage to mean that something like a comet or asteroid will collide with the planet, leading to some sort of mass extinction type of event…and that’s not all.
Another passage reads: “When Mars rules his path among the stars, human blood will sprinkle the sanctuary.” He also went on to say that “three fires” will “rise from the Eastern sides, while the West loses its light in silence.”
Considering Mars is the god of war, some have speculated that these words could point to new or escalating global conflicts.

While these predictions are terrifying, they’re not all that surprising, as people have worried about war and the possibility of a fireball colliding with the planet since the beginning of time. Nostradamus made another guess about the end of this year that’s a bit more out of left field when he suggested that a leader would rise from the ocean during the wars to build an “aquatic empire.”
But before anyone starts preparing for a war-torn future under the rule of some type of powerful merperson, it’s worth noting that several of the predictions Nostradamus made for this year that never came to pass.
As Grunge reported, there was supposed to be some sort of catastrophe in the Amazon, which didn’t happen. Plus, this year was predicted to bring the dawning of a New World Order, which hasn’t panned out either.
Of course, only time will tell.
