Siberia shopping centre blaze kills 37, leaves dozens of children missing, Russian media says
At least 37 people have died in a fire in a shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo, Russian news agencies reported, citing authorities.
State news agencies said 69 others were missing, many of them children, and more than 100 people had been evacuated from the complex, which contains cinemas, restaurants and shops.
TASS news agency quoted firefighters as saying 40 of the missing were children, and 43 people were injured in the blaze.
It also reported that 13 bodies were found in one of the movie theatres.
Television pictures showed people jumping from the windows of the mall, which was engulfed in black smoke.
There was no immediate indication of the cause of the fire.
Kemerovo is a coal-producing region 3,600 kilometres east of Moscow.
