Mauna Loa Volcano Eruption Update; Lava to Hit Route 200, Golden Volcanic Glass
Today's Update
Lava from Mauna Loa's ongoing eruption is expected to cut off a major road on the Big Island by as early as Friday, Route 200. This is due to a slowly advancing lava flow from fissure 3, which along with fissure 4 are the two currently active and erupting vents. Additionally, ongoing activity has produced a mysterious golden volcanic glass known as pele's hair, which this video will explain how it forms. This video will discuss Mauna Loa's ongoing eruption and what might happen next.
