Today Robert F. Kennedy Jr. headed a press conference at The National Press Club to address the issue of mercury/thimerosal containing vaccines and more importantly vaccine safety.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has spent countless hours investigating vaccine safety, and "for his part in simply questioning the practice of injecting mercury into infants, RFK Jr. has been maliciously assaulted by the pro-vaccine media, including TIME Magazine who ran a horrible “hit piece” against him."[1]

In an impassioned speech to the media, Kennedy outlined his history winning legal cases concerning such things as mercury poisoning, requiring him to have an adept understanding in science and went on to discuss his investigations into vaccine safety which demonstrate the impact of mercury in neurologic and neuro-developmental disorders, especially in boys.

Kennedy continued, "what I heard from journalists time and again, and what you hear, it's like, it's repeated like a mantra, that the link between mercury, that mercury is safe, the science proves it's safe, that the link between mercury and vaccines and neurodevelopmental disorders is nonexistent, so I want to show you here the studies that CDC and journalists have said for years don't exist, these are 240 studies that show that, and they're by the best university scientists, by government scientists, by hospital scientists all over the world that say that mercury is neurotoxic and it's causing damage to our children, that when you give it to mice, when you give it to rats, when you give it to hamsters, pheasants, goats, to cows, that they develop autism like symptoms or other neurodevelopmental disorders. These studies show that mercury is linked to the cascade of pediatric neurologic, neurodevelopmental disorders, that began hitting Americans in 1989."

He continued, "We know this, that genes do not cause epidemics, you need an environmental toxin, so the question that journalists ought to be asking, instead of just parroting the CDCs safety assurances, if it is not the thimerosal in vaccines, then what is it? What is the toxin that touched every American demographic in 1989 from Cubans in Bisque Bay Miami to Inuit in Homer Alaska? ... and that affects boys disproportionately to girls...the fingerprint for that is mercury. Mercury impacts boys because testosterone amplifies the neurotoxic effect of the mercury molecule, and estrogen wraps the molecule and protects the female brain."

Robert F. Kennedy, admits there are many hypotheses that need investigating, "but none with the same timing or sectional dimorphism that we see [with mercury]"

He also pointed out a pile of 81 studies that link thimerosal exposure to autism.

A pile of, well zero studies that show that thimerosal is safe. (later in the conference Kennedy clarified that there are 19 studies created by CDC and the industry that are population studies only and that are very flawed (including 3 studies by the CDC whistleblower Dr. WIlliam Thompson).

The following additional points were made:

• there have been 4 separate federal studies that have painted the CDC vaccine division as a cesspool of corruption
• the CDC is a vaccine company that owns 56 vaccines
• the CDC sells 4.1 billion dollars of vaccines a year
• the inspector general of the HHS found that up to 97% of the people making decisions on vaccine policy, either own stock in vaccine companies or are otherwise financially entangled in the vaccine industry

Kennedy was not finished … "the CDC is not science, what your doctor says is not science, what NIH says is not science. Science is what appears on PubMed and is written by research scientists and this is science, but calling CDC and saying is Bobby Kennedy wrong about the science does not prove anything. I can tell you what they're going to say - yeah he's wrong. But, you journalists have a duty to do more than that, you have a duty to actually look and see what the science says yourselves and nobody has been willing to do this, no matter all of our pleading and begging from this whole community, I am going to show you over here. Three weeks ago we put a request on our website for mothers to send us stories that are much like Bobs story and much like the story that you are going to hear from Nico LaHood. That they brought their perfectly healthy child in for a wellness visit and the child got a series of shots, some of them probably containing thimerosal, the child spiked a fever that night, 105 degrees, had seizures, and within 3 months was brain dead, now we said, we put out just on our website, tell us if you had that story. Within 13 hours we had 6100 women send us the details of their specific story, and that's what is in these books...This is not science, what we've been told is not science, it's more akin to religion, it's an orthodoxy, that it can't be challenged, it's a taboo to talk about it, that anybody who talks about it is a heretic and has to be harmed, marginalized or call an anti-vax and yet, you know one of these stories is not science, two of them is not science, it's anecdotal, but 6100 of them, you know ultimately science is just case studies, it's science and these are 6100 case studies here."

At the end of his speech, Bobby Kennedy announced a challenge (to the journalists):

Offering $100000 to start talking about this issue honestly.

There were other speakers at the press conference and here is a little of what was said.

San Antonio District Attorney Nicholas LaHood who had children that were vaccine injured.

"we are here ... for children, truth and safety ... that is what we stand here for "

Robert De Niro who was unable to get the controversial documentary, Vaxxed: From Cover-up to Catastrophe,” screened at his own Tribeca Film Festival summed up his few words with, "what Bobby said was great, it was eloquently said, I couldn't have said it any better myself, I agree with him 100%, thank you".

Rev Tony Muhammad came because he saw autism exploding in his community and it is the black neighborhoods that are getting the thimerosal vaccines.

He spoke of advocating for truth and standing up for the poor people. "those poor people being black, brown, red and white."

Reverend Muhammad talked about the admissions of CDC scientist, Dr. William Thompson who admitted lying about a study that he did that showed the increased risk of autism in black boys from thimerosal containing vaccines.

He spoke of visiting 30 communities that viewed the Vaxxed documentary:

"when the documentary Vaxxed was shown, the screams, the cries from black mothers who are poor. In St Louis Missouri a black mother fainted after looking at the movie Vaxxed, and it took us minutes to revive her, and she said - I knew it was the vaccines but the doctors bullied me and told me that it was me genetically that gave that to my child ... she said I’m crying because I’ve had a hysterectomy because I refuse to have any more children"

To the press, "the truth is being hidden and it is your responsibility, as Mr. Kennedy said you are the last line of defense for truth, but if you have been compromised then in the minds of the American people we are hemorrhaging because you have to muster up the courage to go behind these lines and vet out the truth for our children and our children’s sake ... show us that we can trust you, prove to us that you will leave no stone unturned because the CDC has admitted that in the 1960s Elijah Muhammad told the members of the nation, do not take the polio vaccine, we are for vaccines, but we are very careful with what vaccines we take and 30 years later the CDC admitted that the polio vaccine had in it SV-40 that caused over 95 million American people to come down with cancer when in the early 60s cancer was not a black disease, we are 12% of the population and now we lead all categories in cancers, so I am standing here, not as a man who is just for his people, and I am, don't get it twisted, we have to speak for poor black, poor brown, poor red and poor white, but I’m here with this distinguished body of men that we will give our life for the truth and so we hope that you the press will do your job while the American public somewhat trusts you, because when this comes out in truth the community is going to be upset ... when our community found out that our congress voted to give the vaccine makers a pass on the very bill that Mr. Kennedy spoke of, they were irate, I don't care what the colour is, the American public doesn't even realize that congress passed a bill that the vaccine makers cannot be sued, and if the vaccines are so safe why have our government using the tax payers money been covering up for a pharmaceutical industry that makes billions in profits why won’t they stand up and why won’t they stand behind their own vaccines, why do we the American people have to pay for the mistake of the vaccine makers, that's a crime in my opinion, and you must do something about it."

Del Bigtree came as a journalist who was a producer of The Doctors and was told that he was not allowed to talk about the subject of vaccine safety and that it was taboo, leaving in disgust.

Among other things Del talked about the 10000 documents supplied by Dr. William Thompson, going to congress asking for an investigation into the scientific fraud of the CDC and getting nothing, no press, nothing.

He finished with, "at the heart, the foundation of media, of press, the same heart and foundation of science is one single idea, we must never stop asking questions, if we do science is dead, if science believes it has the only truth there will never be another Einstein, there will never be another breakthrough event and if journalists stop asking the important questions then there will never be the dream of the United States of America, because Thomas Jefferson said to us, if we lose a free press, a press that can challenge the government, can challenge the tyranny of industry, hold their feet to the fire, then we will lose our freedom and we will lose the United States of America. They call us the fourth estate, the fourth branch of government and we report concern about the branches of government being bought out by industry, senators and congressmen that bow down to oil and gas industries or pharmaceutical industries as Bobby Kennedy has pointed out now the most powerful lobby in Washington. But what about us, what about the fourth branch of government. If we have been bought out, if we cannot go back to our networks and say we must run this story, I don't care that Merck’s going to follow this story with an ad for a drug and a ridiculous list of tickertape side effects and we giggle in our living rooms, who would buy that, we have to stop giggling because we are lying to the public. They believe that we have a free press, they believe we are telling the truth, they believe we will cover a story when a top scientist says we have lied to the American people. Journalists are the first ones to step up when a murderer is on death row and new evidence or a new witness steps forward, we say we must reopen this case, we cannot let an innocent man die or an innocent woman die. Well I’ll tell you right now, we have a new witness in Dr. William Thompson, we have new evidence and 10000 documents that he has provided, and you have great scientists and lawyers pointing out that it is impossible to say that vaccines are safe, it is impossible because we have paid out more than 3.3 billion dollars in damages, paid for with tax payer money, because the pharmaceutical industry has no liability … the most toxic non-radioactive substance has no study saying that it can be injected into children and pregnant women, into fetuses, and we have a rise in childhood illness like we've never seen, autism now at 1 in 45 up from 1 in 10000, asthma in every classroom, anaphylactic food allergies, diabetes, eczema, the list goes on and on, that is not the classroom I grew up in. We have got to stop saying our children are so safe because of vaccines, our children are sick, we said it on the Doctors television show, this is the first generation of children that we believe will not live to be as old as their parents."

Investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson chaired the conference and former head of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and member of the institute of Medicine, the late Dr. Bernadine Healy made a video appearance.

The question now remains. Will the media continue mainstream or will they swim in a different direction?

We are both pro-vaccine. We need to say this at the outset to contravene the reflexive public relations ploy of labeling every vaccine safety advocate “anti-vaccine.” As the British Medical Journal pointed out last week, that epithet is a derogatory attack designed to marginalize vaccine safety advocates and derail reasoned debate:

“It stigmatizes the mere act of even asking an open question about what is known and unknown about the safety of vaccines.”

Both of us had all of our children vaccinated and we support policies that promote vaccine coverage. We want vaccines that are as safe as possible, robust transparent science and vigorous oversight by independent regulators who are free from corrupting conflicts-of-interest.

Despite the cascade of recent science confirming that thimerosal is a potent neurotoxin that damages children’s brains, the American media has fiercely defended the orthodoxy that mercury-based vaccines are safe. We believe that even a meager effort at homework will expose that contention as unsupported by science. In just the past month, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) review confirmed thimerosal’s profound neurotoxicity and a Yale University study connected vaccines to neurological illnesses including OCD, anorexia and tics.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announces the World Mercury Project’s $100,000 challenge with goal of stopping use of highly toxic mercury in vaccines.

WASHINGTON, Feb. 15, 2017 – Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Chairman of the World Mercury Project (WMP), announced a $100,000 challenge today aimed at putting an end to including mercury, a neurotoxin that is 100 times more poisonous than lead, in vaccines administered in the U.S and globally.

Thimerosal, a mercury-containing preservative, is still in 48 million U.S. flu vaccines each year, tetanus toxoid, meningococcal vaccines and, in massive doses, in the pediatric vaccines given to 100 million children across the developing world. A Centers for Disease Control (CDC) review published last month found that the ethylmercury in thimerosal is as profoundly neurotoxic as the heavily regulated methylmercury in fish.

“On one hand, the government is telling pregnant women which mercury-laced fish to avoid so that they don’t harm their fetuses, and on the other, the CDC supports injecting mercury-containing vaccines into pregnant women, infants and children,” said Kennedy, who spent decades litigating polluters who dumped mercury into water systems. “This defies all logic and common sense.”

Kennedy stressed that, contrary to countless claims that he is “anti-vaccine” and wishes to end the country’s vaccination program; nothing could be further from the truth. He vaccinated all of his children and just wants safe vaccines.

Actor Robert De Niro, the parent of a vaccine-injured son, who also spoke at the press conference, is a supporter of the WMP whose vision is a world where mercury is no longer a threat to the health of our planet and people. The group focuses on making sound science the driver of public policy.

Toward that end, Kennedy announced the “World Mercury Project Challenge” to American journalists and others “who have been assuring the public about the safety of mercury in vaccines.”

Kennedy explained that the WMP will pay $100,000 to the first journalist, or other individual, who can find a peer-reviewed scientific study demonstrating that thimerosal is safe in the amounts contained in vaccines currently being administered to American children and pregnant women. Kennedy believes that even “a meager effort at homework” will expose that contention as unsupported by science. He says the science is unequivocal that mercury is a serious health hazard and exposure is linked to many different diseases and conditions (ADHD, Alzheimer’s, Acrodynia and Autism). Even studies listed by the CDC on its website, to exonerate thimerosal as an autism culprit, link thimerosal exposure to low IQ, diminished language and motor skills, and tics, a family of neurological disorders that includes Tourette Syndrome. A Yale University study published last week suggests a link between vaccines and tics, as well as anorexia and OCD.

And for those who say the science has been settled since Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s Lancet paper on the MMR vaccine and its role in causing autism was discredited, think again. The paper had nothing to do with thimerosal, which is not in the MMR vaccine.

In August 2014, CDC senior vaccine safety scientist Dr. William Thompson invoked federal whistleblower protection and confessed that CDC supervisors instructed  vaccine scientists to destroy data linking vaccines to autism.

In 2004, an FDA official acknowledged in testimony before a Congressional committee that no government or privately funded study has ever demonstrated thimerosal’s safety, and that still stands today.

“It’s our hope that this challenge will elevate this important debate beyond name-calling and prompt a genuine examination of the relevant science. The American public is entitled to an honest, probing and vigorous discussion about this critical public health issue – a debate based on facts, not rooted in fear, or on blind faith in regulators and the pharmaceutical industry,” wrote Kennedy in a letter addressed to America’s reporters, journalists, columnists, editors, network anchors, on-air doctors and news division producers that was handed out at the press conference.
