Local news outlet TOLO has reported that at least 6 rockets hit the Afshar residential area, from where dozens of families have fled. 

Multiple explosions hit Kabul, the Afghan capital, on Thursday. Officials have confirmed that two of the detonations have been caused by rockets hitting a residential area. At least four people have been reported wounded.

The incident comes after a suicide bomber killed 14 people near the city's airport in an attack that was claimed by the Islamic State.

Parliamentary elections are due in October, officials have warned about an increase in politically motivated violence, despite speculations of peace talks with Taliban militants.
