Multiple explosions strike Kabul residential area

Local news outlet TOLO has reported that at least 6 rockets hit the Afshar residential area, from where dozens of families have fled.

There have been no claims of responsibility yet.

The incident comes after a suicide bomber killed 14 people near the city's airport in an attack that was claimed by the Islamic State.

Parliamentary elections are due in October, officials have warned about an increase in politically motivated violence, despite speculations of peace talks with Taliban militants.
