Iran criticizes U.S. plan

... to set up border security forces in Syria

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Bahram Qassemi said on Tuesday that the U.S. initiative to set up the Border Security Forces (BSF) was interference in Syria’s internal affairs, which escalated the crisis in the country.

Qassemi also stressed such kind of steps had to be firstly coordinated and discussed with the Syrian government in Damascus. In this regard, he called on the U.S. to leave Syria and determine the internal policy in its own country.

We remind that yesterday the official representative of the U.S.-led Coalition claimed about intentions to set up new formation along Syria’s internal border with Turkey and Iraq.
