How to locate cell towers and antennas anywhere in the USA

One of the things I value about networking is the sharing of information and ideas. Recently, a young woman in western Pennsylvania contacted me requesting information about AMI Smart Meters. As the researcher for Pennsylvania Smart Meter Awareness (PASMA), I emailed back PASMA’s Smart Meter Information Kit, which she found most helpful, according to her follow-up email.

However, she enclosed a real “gem” of information for me, which I want to share with my readers. It’s the Internet site “Welcome to Antenna Search.com!”, which contains a ‘boatload’ of resources regarding cell towers (existing and future) and Antennas within 4 miles of the address you type into the site’s search engine.

Here’s what that site states as of June 18, 2017: “2,533,670 Towers and Antennas Online”!

Total towers 643,741; Total Antennas 1,889,929 in the USA. [1]

Antennas can be for various media, e.g., radio, television, emergency and police, even some independently-owned corporate towers. Here’s another Internet site, which supplies more definitive information regarding antennas.

Wikipedia states:

Antennas are essential components of all equipment that uses radio. They are used in systems such as radio broadcasting, broadcast television, two-way radio, communications receivers, radar, cell phones, and satellite communications, as well as other devices such as garage door openers, wireless microphones, Bluetooth-enabled devices, wireless computer networks, baby monitors, and RFID tags on merchandise. [2]

Conveniently omitted are electric, natural gas and water utility AMI Smart Meters, which operate on microwave technology and ZigBee radios to collect and transmit data from each house such a meter is retrofitted on to! Oh, by the way, that ZigBee also can cause a “brown out” or even shut off your service, depending upon the utility’s frame of mind regarding usage and ‘conservation’.

Cars even have antennas!

However, there is only one location in the USA where cell towers and antennas are not permitted, as their radiowaves will interfere with the “largest fully-steerable radiotelescope in the world” [3]. Green Bank, West Virginia, rapidly is gaining the reputation as the place to go for those who suffer with electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) or idiopathic environmental intolerance (IEI).

Those debilitating health problems from EMF/RF/ELF exposures will be expanding exponentially when Wi-Fi-in-the-sky and the individual small antennas for 5G reception are placed on a pole in front of your house or on your front porch.
