Colloidal Gold: health benefits, dosage, uses, side effects & more

The first time I learned about colloidal gold was the spring of 1996, and an entertaining meeting with the manufacturer followed shortly thereafter.

I had discovered an intriguing line of colloidal products at a holistic pet store in the San Fernando Valley, California while buying supplements for my dog. It was one of the only brands of colloidal gold, silver, and platinum on the market in those days.

After speaking to the pet store owner about the benefits of colloidal products, I ended up buying a large bottle of silver and gold, eager to test them on my dog, an aging malamute with arthritis, and myself. It was a human product line that was completely safe for pets too.

I don't recall if the colloidal silver had much effect on either my dog or me back then, but the colloidal gold became an instant hit because it put me in an incredibly good, and positive, mood.

I was so impressed with the effects of the gold, I called the number on the bottle one day after work to find out more. A man answered and told me he was the sole manufacturer of the colloidal product line. He was a fascinating guy, very knowledgeable about the colloidal products and holistic health, and as it turned out, lived nearby in Orange County.

We talked for a while and towards the end of the conversation, he invited me to drive down to visit his colloidal "operation." It sounded interesting so a week later, I drove to OC with a good friend to learn how colloidal gold and colloidal silver were made.

We arrived at a small house in Orange County, and a man in his mid-50s opened the door and led us inside to his kitchen, where he made all the colloidal products on his countertop. He gave us a quick demonstration and then proudly showed us his homemade Tesla coil in the living room, which he fired up for all of 30 seconds, long enough to impress us but not long enough to cause the arrival of black helicopters in the area to investigate the massive surge in power, as he put it.

And that was my first experience in colloidal alchemy. I forgot about colloidal gold at some point when I moved too far away to buy it at the pet store, started Earth Clinic in 1999, and focused on apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper instead.

Twenty years later, colloidal silver became a very popular remedy on Earth Clinic and my attention again returned to colloidal alchemy.

Now many people know about the health benefits of colloidal silver, but not much is known about colloidal gold. This article, therefore, is to tell you as much as possible about colloidal gold, as I believe it can be a beneficial mineral supplement, especially in the mental health arena.

What is Colloidal Gold?

Colloidal gold is a colloidal suspension of nanoparticles of gold in liquid. Studies have shown that colloidal gold can help reduce rheumatoid arthritis symptoms and enhance brain function. It is also commonly used for anxiety and depression as it has an incredibly relaxing effect on the nervous system, especially when taken on an empty stomach.

Colloidal gold uses a technology called nanotechnology, where almost all colloidal particles fall in the range of diameter from 1-1000 nanometers. They can be in any state, whether liquid, gas, or solid. Colloidal gold sold as a mineral supplement is typically a suspension of gold nanoparticles in distilled alkaline water.

These particles range within a 1-100 nanometer scale for a colloidal gold solution, known as gold nanoparticles.

[1 nanometer is equivalent to 0.000000001 meters.]

These tiny gold particles from the colloid penetrate through the cell membranes and relieve many clinical issues.

Colloidal gold can be safely used as a daily supplement, both internally as well as externally. It is also safe for pets. It lasts approximately 24 hours in the body.

What is the Color of Colloidal Gold?

The color of colloidal gold can vary from transparent yellow to transparent red/pink, depending on the concentration and size of the particles.

Typically colloidal gold in the ruby red range, the most minute nanoparticle size, is manufactured by most holistic health companies as it is100% bio-accessible for the most significant viability.

Colloidal Gold Health Benefits

Colloidal gold has been found to have the following benefits:

  • Anti-Inflammatory.
  • Anti-Aging.
  • Promotes cellular rejuvenation.
  • Promotes a calm and relaxed mental state.
  • Mood enhancer.
  • Increases cognitive function.
  • Improves mental, physical, and energy performance.
  • Reduces stress.
  • Induces a feeling of relaxation and security.
  • Used to treat addiction.
  • Improves blood circulation.
  • Alleviates rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.
  • Increases hand-eye coordination (and thus popular with tennis players).
  • Helps inflammatory skin conditions like rashes, eczema, blisters, and fungal infections.
  • Improves the transmission of nerve impulses.
