- CDC Director Robert Redfield admits to Congress

Friday, top Centers for Disease Control (CDC) officials testified before Congress. Their testimonies were anxiously anticipated by the Main Stream Media. But after the hearing had ended, there was almost no MSM coverage of what was said or revealed.

Why? Because there were some revelations that go against the Covid-19 fear/hysteria the U.S. News Media, along with their like-minded medical experts and politicians, are saturating our eyes and ears with every day, 24/7.

The most important revelation (IMO) was a top official at Health and Human Services, along with the Director of the CDC admitting that Covid-19 death numbers are "inflated".

In addition to the political reasons we're all aware of, there's also a financial incentive for hospitals to inflate their number of Covid-19 deaths.

(CNSNews.com) – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Robert Redfield acknowledged Friday that the number of COVID-19 deaths could be inflated where someone who had the virus actually died from something else, but it was recorded as a COVID death.

At a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing, titled, “The Urgent Need for a National Plan to Contain the Coronavirus,” Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.) said he wished that Admiral Brett Giroir, assistant secretary for health at HHS, didn’t have to leave the hearing early, because the last time he appeared before the committee, they discussed the incentive for people in the medical field to claim someone died of COVID just to get more money.

“I asked him a question last time he was here, and we didn't have a time to continue our discussion with regards to the sort of perverse incentive for medical folks to claim that somebody died of COVID versus if it’s an automobile accident for instance, as long as you have COVID in your system, you can blame COVID and which means you get more money as the attending physician, hospital, whatever,” the congressman said.

“[Giroir] acknowledges that the statistics he’s getting from the states are inflated. We found that the governor of Colorado, who was a Democrat, actually did research on this and found he had to get rid of 12% of the deaths that were recorded in the state,” Luetkemeyer said.

He asked Redfield to comment on the “perverse incentive” and whether there is an effort “to try and do something different in a way that these deaths are recorded so we actually have better records and better numbers to go with.”

“Early in the HIV epidemic, somebody may have a heart attack but also have HIV. The hospital would prefer the DRG for HIV because there is greater reimbursement.

When it comes to death reporting though, ultimately, it's how the physician defines it in the death certificate,” Redfield said.

Actually, the latest CDC guidelines issued on April 20th are more "generous" than what these Congressmen are aware of. If a doctor/coroner "believes" that a deceased individual had Covid-19 at the time of death, it can be listed as a Covid-19 death.

In cases where a definite diagnosis of COVID–19 cannot
be made, but it is suspected or likely, it
is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate as
“probable” or “presumed.”

I have an ATS thread identifying one example (Arizona) where these fast and loose rules/guidelines have been implemented to pump-up the death count... either for political reasons, and/or to trigger additional payments from the Federal Government to Arizona hospitals.

Another revelation from yesterday's testimony came from Doctor Anthony Fauci. He said President Trump is correct about Schools needing to reopen for in-person learning. He explained how downstream ramifications for the children, and the families, from keeping schools closed for in-person learning and interacting, would be devastating.

Again, much of what was revealed and advised at yesterday's hearing was calming, level-headed, and transparent. With about 90 days until the Presidential Election, those TRUTHS are not what 90% of the U.S. media want Americans to know, or understand.
