Tencent’s WeChat now allows users to pay using their palm print. The app already supports facial and fingerprint biometrics.
According to a report by Tech Planet, the palm print technology has been trialed by merchants in Shenzhen, China’s fourth largest city by population.
To use the technology, users must first enroll their palm print, after which they will be able to use their palm to make payments at stores with contactless palm print scanners.
In related news, Amazon’s palm print payment technology Amazon One is now available at three more concession areas at Climate Pledge Arena, home to Seattle’s Women’s National Basketball Association, and National Hockey League teams.
