Kept silent by fear: as the facade comes down, where will you stand?

The entire 2016 election cycle saw an unprecedented level of both transparency, thanks predominately to WikiLeaks, and corruption. Some would say the latter has always been there, and it is only due to the former that we are able see it today. All of the many shockingly incriminating revelations that are finding their way onto the screen of every American computer should quite literally be the end, of not only these politicians, but the broken American political system that fosters this type of profiteering illegal activity. Yet sadly, there are many who either refuse to let themselves see the reality, for fear that it will call into question their lifetime of unwavering dedication to this callous hierarchy, or they are blindly eating up the deflecting lies being thrown out as a last grasping effort for control. Either way, those choosing to keep their head in the sand have a hard awakening on the horizon.

With each leak or video released, the one glaring revelation that can be taken away from each, regardless of one’s political leanings, is that what the people see on television, during debates and at rallies, is a show; it’s a persona created by the campaign based on what they feel the people want to hear and see, and has nothing to do with what’s best for Americans, and this has never been more apparent than today. Many extremely revealing leaks have come into the public light in recent years. With every exposed document or video that reveals information or statements that would never have been openly shared in front of party constituents, Americans are finally confronted with how these politicians really feel; the Truth

This will not come as a shock to most, as politics in general is regarded as more of a game, or win-at-all-costs competition by the people(and much more so by the politicians themselves), as opposed to the important ethical, principled and democratic process that it should be. That being said, many still believe that despite the cut-throat nature of American politics, that the candidates are simply doing what they must to win, and that their policy, or rather what they claim their policy and term objectives to be, are ultimately what they will attempt to accomplish in their subsequent four years. However, the reality of the contrast between what is promised and what actually happens — that which every American is now being violently confronted with — is quite clear when one looks back at just about any presidency.

Take for example Obama and his campaign of “Hope and Change.” All can now agree that what was heralded as the revitalization of America(ultimately the same platform Trump is using) turned out to be one of the worst presidencies in history. That’s not to say that it’s entirely Obama’s fault, but no one makes it to that office without being a political insider, which means he had no illusions about what he would be able to accomplish. Especially when one considers the hyper-partisan nature of this country’s political system; each side of the aisle doing everything they can to hinder the other side’s progress, forgetting while playing their little game of chicken with American prosperity, that it is the people suffering from their lack of morality and subterfuge — while they relax in their multi-million dollar homes.

Even when confronted with facts, as exposed by the multitude of leaked emails that none but Donna Brazile attempted to label as “fake,” the reflexive response is to pivot to Russia, or Chinese steel, neither of which are relevant to the leaks, and only one of which is actually true. More than once, the FBI has said that there is zero proof that the Russians had anything to do with the leaks, yet that does not stop these party hardliners, or Clinton herself, from pushing the lie. This is because they know they will not be publicly confronted on it, leaving the public to choose who to trust.

This political game Americans participate in every four years, is just that, a game; or at least it is to its participants. And it is not hard to see who the winners of this game truly are. Knowing this, it is time for Americans to begin looking past this facade of democracy; this duopoly of corruption, and look to themselves and their communities; look to each other and realize that we as the people of the United States of America are stronger than these criminal politicians when we speak as one.

Yet, at most points in this nation’s history, the people were divided to the point of obsolesce, intentionally so. And today, it would appear no different to those choosing to believe mainstream media, and financed factions of protesters sent out to cause chaos by the likes of George Soros; but the reality is that this nation has never been more connected, more empowered and more unified, due almost entirely to the Internet, yet the media pushes a narrative of division and conflict, as it suits the establishment agenda. It is in the establishment’s best interest to keep the people divided so they fail to see through the lies … as many are today.

With every release of information that allows Americans to see behind the curtain, the people consolidate their frustration and begin to see that we are the ones suffering as we participate in this political placation. So it is on each and every one reading this to go out and speak your mind, make your beliefs known, and do not shy away from doing so, even in the face of opposition. You will soon begin to realize that there is a very small few who still hold steadfast to this democratic illusion forced upon us, and that most are only doing so in an effort to not be labeled an outsider, when in reality, they are part of one of the largest silent majorities in history, kept silent by fear.
