An intriguing field of research that Damanhur has been studying for more than 30 years and has become known for is the field of plant perception. The latest findings in this fascinating experimentation of the perceptive links between humans and the plant world is called Music of the Plants. Emotional experiences come about through Music of the Plants, where beings that are seemingly very diverse are able to establish a harmony and communication between them.

From a technical point of view, this communication takes places through the transmission of very low-voltage electric currents between the roots and leaves of the plant. Variations of resistivity in the plant are then translated into music through a synthesizer.

Communication with the plants mainly involves the emotional sphere of both humans and plants. The plants seem to enjoy the sound and learn to produce the sounds themselves, through the technical instrumentation. Over the years, many CDs have been produced featuring music made by different plants, whether potted or rooted the earth. This music has been played live, as well, at concerts in which plants and humans sing and play music together.

The pleasure that the plants experience with these sounds becomes particularly evident during these sessions, when the sounds of the plant musicians harmoniously resonate with those of human musicians.
