Opening of first bridge between Russia and China
The kilometer-long Blagoveshchensk-Heihe highway bridge was inaugurated over the Amur River, connecting Russia and China. Its cost was shared equally by the two nations. Its construction began in 2016. It should be able to accommodate 630 trucks and 164 buses per day.
China and Russia have modified the Chinese blueprint for the New Silk Roads to include Russian territory and north-south communication lines.
